>> police believe it is a case of a personal dispute and not an active shooter. >> reporter: police and fbi are on the scene of the community college of philadelphia. report of a man with a gun in the area and raced to the campus. a short time they determined it not to be an actor shooter situation. campus already on alert. this comes a day after atf and fbi warned of an online threat of violence at a philadelphia campus less than a week after a deadly mass shooting at a community college in oregon. philadelphia. police tweeting, lock down not because of an active shooter situation. police are looking for a suspect regarding a personal dispute. we'll bring you the latest live

investigation. there are reports engine trouble prevented the captain from navigating away from the storm. heavy hearts at the academy. >> we pray for our shipmates. >> reporter: prayers and a moment of silence, two graduates along the 33 crew members missing after cargo ship el faro sank after running into hurricane joaquin. ntsb launching its own investigation. coast guard continues searching the ocean, they pulled a life ring from the ocean, so far no survivors.

hernandez charged with shooting and killing two men at a traffic light. >> his lawyers are trying to keep prosecutors from using a truck. prosecutors say if ortiz lied about other matters, doesn't mean he lied about information leading to the warrant. they want a witness intimidation charge dismissed. >> disturbing new details about a toddler tragedy in worcester. unsafe conditions inside the home with where a little two-year-old girl was found unresponse ive unresponsive. jennifer eager has the report. >> reporter: back in july, they found 13 violations inside the apartment building, trash piled

up and used needles on the property. two-year-old gg brown found unresponsive. she was likely dead four hours before she was found. cause of death has not been determined in this case. apartment building is owned by a woman in shresberry. most of the issues have been taken care of. >> the outstanding issue we have is bed bugs. exterminator went to the property. however, right now, we do certainly have a grieving family right now might not be the appropriate time to do that. >> reporter: city inspector had been to the apartment several times including when gg lived here. inspectors are mandatory reporters, they have to report

carolina, nikki hailey making this announcement. also giving a lot of people a chance of the damage the flood waters left behind. they are keeping a watchful eye worried more water could be on the way. >> reporter: sunrise for the first time in days comes without rain. orange glow replacing the clouds providing a ray of hope for many, shining a light on the devastation from historic flooding and difficult recovery. >> this is going to be a long haul. sun is out, thank god. we still have a long way to go. >> reporter: national guard is helping. in many neighborhoods, flood waters still rising. >> rain stopped but water coming from the upstate. >> reporter: more than a dozen have already given way.

still at risk ready to move families to higher ground. 350 evacuated yesterday. officers continue to go door to door in neighborhoods still under water. >> throughout richland county, city of columbia out searching for looking for houses, checking homes to make sure we don't have anybody in the home that needs help. >> in an area that needs so much help right now. >> reporter: look at the devastation here in this area alone, blanket of mud, two to three inches thick. when you get to the water, eight feet of water that rushed through this area. mayor says a billion dollars of damage or more. he believes in the hardest hit areas, clean up and recovery will take more than a year. latest in columbia, south carolina, ladies, back to you. >> all right.

thank you. update to breaking news out of philadelphia. police and federal agents say a suspect, person of interest is in custody at the community college of philadelphia. as we told you earlier, campus placed in lock down earlier today. federal and local agents responded. there was a report of a gunman on campus. they didn't describe this as an active shooter situation, more of an isolated case. person of interest is in custody, philadelphia police tweeting out that information moments ago. we'll be keeping a close eye on this situation. >> all right, crews in boston scramble to get a water main break under control. you can see the water flooding the road.

>> a pickup truck went off the roadway, crashed through a fence and slammed into this historic house. dates back to 1800s and once belonged to a sea captain. woman inside the truck not injured. >> passengers left with high anxiety after an american airlines pilot dies. a man's wife remembering him as a father and dedicated pilot. >> reporter: seemingly normal flight makes an emergency landing without incident. lands in syracuse safely. their pilot, 57-year-old michael johnston died mid flight. >> it is kind of a surreal, you feel numb. that is the only way to explain it. no, this is not real. >> reporter: his family believe he suffered a heart attack. >> he had problems with his
